Babysitting

As suspected my sister, Zoe had a bit of a crap night sleep last night as the baby cried a lot and also even when it wasn't crying it went to sleep and makes breathing sounds which was also very irritating and stopped her sleeping much!

She decided this morning that she would cut off her arm band and just give me the chiming thing so that we didn't have to take it to physio as it would be embarrassing so I am currently babysitting! I have just had to change it's nappy, feed it for 10 minutes and change it's nappy, all in the space of 15 minutes - this baby is full of it! It was lucky we did this as there would be no room in the doctory place anyway!!

But still, I think I am making a good auntie! Although, I don't like the way it stares at me - it looks like it wants to kill me but perhaps that just because it's plastic and can't move! But I do like the cooing sound it makes once Zoe is done caring with it because it is really cute!

Last night, before I went to bed, Zoe sent me a message on msn telling me it was crying so I went and sat with her while she cared for it - it wanted burping! It then cried again very quickly after that but Zoe was desperate for the toilet so I said I would do it! It took... FOREVER! The rocking and burping sound is the same so I did both at the same because neither of us could work out which it was that it wanted! After 30 minutes of rocking and patting it's back it cooed - it was the rocking it wanted after all! But constantly through those 30 minutes Zoe was laying on her bed and telling it to shut up! I think it went to sleep after that though but then work her up at 4ish and needed caring twice and then once again at 7ish because it needed caring for 3 times.

I'm an auntie! :)

... to an electronic baby. But nevertheless, I am an auntie!
So my sister, Zoe, brought home the electronic baby from school today to have over the weekend. It's one of the ones where you have to feed it, change it's nappy, burp it, rock it and support it's head!

Not one of these ridiculous ones from my school where you have to stick a plastic key in it's back, turn it, and wait for it to coo. Very realistic - not! I mean it doesn't really teach you much about what you have to do for a baby but never mind it was a bit of fun and I quite enjoyed it!

Zoe is the last person in the class to have it for the first time but one of her friends asked for it again so she was going to have it on a harder setting! However... Zoe and her friend's might have been mixed up as Zoe's has cried 5 times between 8 and 9 and her friend's has only cried 3 times since she got it! By the last time Zoe was getting a bit annoyed so she made it chime and then handed me the baby and the bottle... yay! I quite enjoyed sitting with it on my lap, resting it's head on my knee and holding the bottle to it's mouth.

I think Zoe is in for a bit of a sleepless night if that happens later but hopefully it won't be too bad but I have told her that if she is really struggling she can come and wake me up so I can sit with her or something! I'm such a loving sister. I also have to go with her to her physio appointment tomorrow to babysit just in case it goes off there so that should be fun... babysitting a plastic baby...

I reckon I would make a good auntie actually! AND my friend Amy says that when she has children then I can be the fairy godmother!!!! How exciting! I reckon I'd be the best... I'd even buy a tutu, crown and a wand so I could really play the part properly! I reckon I'd look pretty good ;)
