Introducing Ella

So, yesterday was the day that I have been looking forward to for weeks - d-day (or e-day or p-day, whatever you want to call it!) As you can imagine I was extremely excited about the prospects of getting our puppy! I mean... who wouldn't be!

After sorting out the necessaries at the breeders' house we were given Ella, and she was officially ours... wow! We were told to expect her being sick, or tiddling in the car but she was very good and she didn't do any of that. She only had a little bit of a moan, but soon settled down and had a snooze in mum's arms!

We did exactly as the breeders told us to do and took her straight into the back garden and waited for her to have a weewee (this took about an hour, as she was far too busy exploring and enjoying some of the longer pieces of grass, which have since been cut). During this time, she had her first encounter with the cat, although Ella seemed pretty oblivious to the whole thing! Although, the cat didn't seem very pleased and will still need time to adapt!

Snugglies
After this, we spent another half an hour or so trying to get her to follow us indoors! Once indoors, she discovered the dining table and the small gaps under the chair... and how fun they are to crawl under!

Comfy?
Then, we sorted out some din dins!! Although, she was too preoccupied with the garden so we decided to just leave it for when she came back in... and she went straight to it when she came back in. However, in the time between us putting the dinner down and Ella eating it, this happened...

'Am I meant to eat this?'

'Ok, if you're sure...'
It was amusing to say the least anyway, but we did stop her eating it as it obviously wasn't for her and we didn't want her getting ill or anything! While Ella was eating her dinner, Amy kept a clear distance and occasionally poked her head around the bottom of the stairs...

'What... the hell is THAT!!'
After having her dindins, Ella went a 'christened' the garden before laying down next to me on the grass for a little snooze! I realised it was going to rain and didn't fancy getting completely soaked so I tried getting her to follow me but she just kept laying down, bless her! So I picked her up and carried her inside, and she fell asleep in the process!

Zzzzzz
It was very cute, but I thought it would best to get her to go in her crate for the first time, and she soon settled down and snoozed some more... I think I wore her out when she was chasing me round the garden!

What a cutie!
And the rest of the day involved more running, more eating, more chewing on things and a couple more encounters with the cat, including a little bit of hissing (from Amy... not Ella of course), but again she didn't seem to care at all!

Then mum, Zoe and I had to leave to go and do our Moonlight Walk for Pilgrims Hospice, and we raised £370 for them, just so you know. :) So Graham had her on his own for the whole evening! He said that she settled down very well in her crate when it was bed time and only cried for a minute or so, which is pretty damn good!

Today, Zoe and I have taught her how to sit... wow! It's amazing how she picked it up so quickly! We have also had a trip to pets at home (in our arms of course, as she is yet to have her inoculations) to get her socialising with people and we needed a few bits and bobs anyway! She was most definitely a hit, everyone loved her... after all she is absolutely adorable!! And right now she is crashed out in her crate once again, after another little moan about being there but she was fine after a few minutes!!

So yeah, that's Ella! I'm pretty sure there will be some more updates very soon!

Apologies, Puppies and Penguins

Firstly, apologies for the lack of blogginess... it's been nearly 2 weeks!! :O It does seem that my usual irregular blogging pattern has become increasingly more irregular since BEDA! But basically, I have either forgotten about it due to something else I was doing, probably some crappy school stuff, or I was stressing over crappy school stuff... which is always nice. Stupid English.

Last blog you may remember me mentioning some exciting news, well I think I can mention it now, as I've been telling everyone at school anyway... WE'RE GETTING A PUPPY!! How exciting is that? Maybe not very exciting to you but I am pretty damn excited. We have spoken about it many times in the past, but I never really thought it would happen... but Zoe has managed to persuade everyone, so we're all now very excited!

We have been to see them for the past 3 weekends and they are soooo cute! I will post pictures another time, probably once we actually have her. Yes, we're getting a girl :)

Names? Well... at the moment we are all liking Ella, so Ella it is for now. Everyone seems to like the name Maisy but we are getting a Golden Retriever and I just don't think it suits a bit dog, but maybe that's just me! Any suggestions are welcome in the comments...

I also just thought that I would share this link because I thought it was absolutely brilliant!!It just made me smile and have a little bit of a giggle about it!

Tickly Penguin

You may have guessed by now that I am a fan of all things cute and cuddly, as I have posted a fair few cute YouTube video links to my blogs.

Well, here is another one for you! Click here to see the ticklish penguin! It is ABSOLUTELY adorable and I want to keep the penguin... forever! Although, I think that would really upset the owners if I took it... but it is so darn cute! The slip just made me smile and have a little bit of a giggle too, so I thought I would just share the cuteness around, as I usually do, just to make you smile!

I hope you liked it as much as I did! I thank whoever that was who got that on a recording because it is just sooooo cute!

Dogs Trust and Ear Piercing

When I say Dogs Trust and ear piercing, I don't mean that we went to the Dogs Trust and pierced the dog's ears because that would just be weird... and I'm not sure about the legality behind that either. But that's not a problem, because we didn't do that! Now to what this blog REALLY is about...

You my remember about me writing about my family maybe getting a dog, specifically wanting a golden retriever. Well yesterday, my mum, step dad, sister and I went to Canterbury Dogs Trust Centre as we had seen that there was a golden retriever there called Dermot. So we thought we'd look.

When we got there we asked if we could see Dermot, but we were told that he was reserved... bit of a bummer. But they said that we could fill out a form to show more about our family, so that they would be able to determine whether any dogs would fit into our family. While Mum and Graham filled out the forms, my sister and I went around the reception room, where they have a selection of dogs in kennels that we can see, looking at all of the dogs.

We went over and looked at Dermot and he was absolutely adorable! He was so big and fluffy, but the thing was... he looked a little depressed. I know, what does a depressed dog look like?
What I mean is... all of the other dogs were walking about, and everything but he just stayed there, laying in the same spot. Doing nothing. It made me feel really sorry for him as I don't think he liked being there, who would really.

Graham enquired about us perhaps being a second reserve for Dermot, as we loved the look of him and felt really sorry for him. The woman on reception gave us a bit of a blank look and said that she didn't knwo Dermot well so she wouldn't know if he would fit in our family well. There was a more helpful guy there who took over from that point, so he went through our form and said that we may not be the perfect family for Dermot as he needed something quiet as he is very sensitive around a lot of people, and there are 5 of us.

We spoke with him a bit longer and then he had to do something else so after looking at the dogs a little longer, we left. The guy that spoke to us before came running out after us, apologising if he was rude (which he wasn't) and said that there was a dog that he though would be good for us, so he took us round to the other dogs to see a Doberman cross called Millie. There were so many dogs there and they barked SO MUCH, I didn't like it! Although Millie was cute, she was way to noisy as she didn't deal with kennels well apparently. Even though Millie was lovely, we decided we'd keep looking. My mum is 'allergic to noise' anyway so that wouldn't have been good.

After this we went into town as my sister wanted her ears pierced. The shop told us that they could do it straight away so they took us down this teeny tiny stairs to the piercing room. Mum signed the form and Zoe sat on the chair, and told me I had to go the other side of the curtain because I would put her off. Me? Never...

I did do what I was told, and Graham came out too so we decided we'd go and wait in Waterstones. I saw a friend of mine, Arthur, so spoke with him briefly and shortly after Mum and Zoe returned. I was surprised they were quite quick! Zoe and I then went and looked at the Where's Wally books because I love them and I didn't want to look like a complete 'special' person looking at them myself! There was one with a board game in :O awesome!

But best of all, there was one called 'Where's Wally?: The Totally Essential Travel Collection', it was all of the Where's Wally books... all in one! It was in an A5 type book and it has LOADS in! It looked awesome! But I didn't buy it, I'm not that childish! Ok, I am that childish, the child within me was telling me I wanted it. I resisted the temptation!

THE Cutest Baby Ever

I came across this clip on youtube a few days ago and I have watched it at least 10 times since, probably more, because it is soooo cute! It makes me laugh and just generally puts a big smile on my face every time I watch it so I thought I would try and pass on the cuteness to as many people as possible to make them smile too.

I sent an email about this to a few people in my family who would appreciate it but because I am blonde... I forgot to attach the link, as my mum pointed out. Silly me :) but I sent it in the end so at least it got sent in the end.
