Happy Birthday Timotei

Today it is one of my best friend's birthday (Tim) and he asked whether he could have a birthday blog... and clearly, I said yes because I am nice like that.

Tim has been counting down to his birthday for ages now on Facebook and now the day that he was waiting for is finally here so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM!!

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Haaaaaapppy birthday dear Timoteeeiii,
Happy birthday to yoooooouuuu!!!

Like I did for Amy's birthday, I brought out my creative side and wrote a little poem  about birthdays and driving etc to put in his card, just for fun. I was pretty proud of myself, even though it was only small but still. And I also made him a cake, of course. He asked for a 'special' cake, by which he meant that he wanted something other than my traditional button cake that I make so instead I offered him an idea and he liked it so here it is...

It was the first time I had used fondant icing so I think it turned out pretty well to be honest. Although, how ever much red food colour I put into the fondant it WOULD NOT turn red, so I had to settle for pink... or else it would be more food colouring that fondant. I'm not too sure what made me think of doing a French flag but the reason why is says Jean Claude Pierre White is because that is Tim's French alter ego.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Tim! Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Summer is Calling!

These last few days I have been really surprised that the weather has actually been pretty decent, for a change. I've been sitting outside to eat my lunch rather than sitting in the hall, which is a very nice change as the hall is absolutely freezing! I am pretty sure that it is actually colder in the hall than it is inside.

I was sat outside at break with some friends and I was really enjoying being in the sun so in my free Dan and I sat outside for 10 minutes, then went inside to count DVDs for a collection Dan and other people are doing to raise money to go to Africa for the D of E and while he was entering details into the computer I did my biology work that I had to do then afterwards we went back outside to sit on a bench in the grassy area (which is a park, apparently...) for the last part of our free.

It was very nice sitting outside just enjoying the heat of the sun and talking about how nice it will be to go to the beach in the summer! I honestly can't wait, summer is calling my name and I just want to go and jump in the sea. Actually, thinking about it much had been around this time last year that I went in the sea for the first time. I'm pretty sure it was in April and it was absolutely freezing, but it was nice at the same time.

I can not wait until the summer really start so I can go to the beach all the time. I hope it is a good summer, so I can go as much a possible because the beach is my favourite place ever and I can get out my beach ball again. I had to get a new one this year because the sea swallowed my pink one :( but it's all good because the one I got it bigger and better so really, it was kind of a good thing.

P.S. Dan has been nagging me to feature our games of slaps in one of my blogs. I'm not really sure why or when we started playing slaps but basically we now play it any time really, just to fill time when we are doing nothing. Both our hands end up looking a bit red but it doesn't hurt so that's alright. Although Dan cheats and doesn't give me time to get back after I pull away... cheat!
It started off that I was really good and Dan could barely ever get a turn, but then I kind of lost my touch and my reactions were terrible! But it alright because I seem to have got my touch back and I'm back in game! Beware Dan...

Red Nose Day

As you know, yesterday was Red Nose Day and there was a non-uniform day at school where everyone had to pay a pound. Even though we are in the sixth form we of course payed a pound too, it's charity after all. We were told that we were allowed to wear hoodies for the day, as we usually aren't allowed. Unfortunatly, I own barely anything that is red so I decided to wear my red Christmas socks (which I wear anyway even though it's not Christmas, but I love them - thanks Santa) and my pink hoodie. I know it is pink but it is the closest thing to red. I still payed my pound so that's all that matters really. I also bought a red nose the day before (the one with the glasses) but my friend, Chloe, ripped it a tiny bit by accident :O I know... rude! But it's okay, I won't hold a grudge because I fixed it with glue :)

One of my best friends, Tim, really got into the spirit of RND and decided that he would wear everything red... so he did. He asked me to take a picture of him and I asked him if I was allowed to feature him on my blog, and of course he said yes!

His outfit consisted of:
Red Santa trousers, a red t-shirt, red jacket, red scarf, red nose and a red cap with a banner. I gave the hat to him as he asked me if I had a red cap and I did happen to have one, and it was just great that it had a banner that could be written on. Unfortunately, he couldn't find any red shoes but still.

This is a close up just to show his head better because my phone didn't show his top half very well because of the lights. We were in French in the afternoon and a Spanish teacher came into the lesson and told Tim that the local paper were in school for RND pictures and our Deputy Head had requested that he would be in the picture because he really did stand out! Nice one Tim :)

I of course sat down in the evening with my sister, Zoe, to watch Comic Relief on TV as we usually do. I really enjoy watching things like this because they are funny at the same time as being serious. One of the best parts of the show had to be Master Chef with Miranda Hart, Ruby Wax and Claudia Winkleman. I laughed at it so much, especially when Ruby was trying to get the shell of the crabs and some of the shell hit Michel Roux in the face. When David Cameron came to check out the kitchen before the meal I think he feared for his life... but in the end I think he was quite surprised that it wasn't THAT bad.

Another funny thing has got to be The Inbetweeners Rude Road Trip because they are so funny even though they are being their real selves and also some of the road names were hilarious. I didn't manage to see the end of their road trip because I unfortunately didn't make it to the end of the entire show. As much as I had planned to watch the whole thing, I just couldn't. It got to about 11pm and I was already feeling tired as I had a busy week this week and then by 11.30pm my eyes were just opening then closing, you probably know the feeling so I looked down at my sister, who was doing the exact same thing, and decided that I would turn the TV off because it would be pointless to try and watch the end and then end up leaving my TV on. My mum would say 'save a poor woman's electric' like she ALWAYS does when I fall asleep with my TV on.

My sister told me this morning that the total amount of money that was raised at the end of the night was £74,360,207, which is the most they have ever raised. Wow. When I turned it off it was on £41 million I think, well that was the last total I remember hearing anyway!!

THE Cutest Baby Ever

I came across this clip on youtube a few days ago and I have watched it at least 10 times since, probably more, because it is soooo cute! It makes me laugh and just generally puts a big smile on my face every time I watch it so I thought I would try and pass on the cuteness to as many people as possible to make them smile too.

I sent an email about this to a few people in my family who would appreciate it but because I am blonde... I forgot to attach the link, as my mum pointed out. Silly me :) but I sent it in the end so at least it got sent in the end.

Car Theory Test

This morning I had my Theory Test and... I PASSED! I'm so pleased. I was pretty nervous before I went in even though I hadn't felt the nerves before I got the centre... typical.

I had to get up at 6 o'clock, half an hour earlier than I usually get up, which I thought would be horrible as I'm really not a fan of early mornings AT ALL. But it was actually ok and I managed to get ready and get on a bus for 7:05.

I got to the test centre and pressed the buzzer, and then once I got into the reception area I had to show them my license and whatever and then put all my belongings in the locker. I then sat down in the waiting room to read the information sheet I was given. The information was pretty boring so I was getting distracted by other things. One of those things was the locker key. This small key was attached to a huge foam square (about 20cm) and I noticed the number on it. I had picked locker number 13...

I was sitting there thinking 'oh crap, that's an unlucky number' but then I reasoned with myself that I wasn't really that superstitious and it would be pretty sad to go and change lockers just because of a number. After all... it's just a number. I think that fact that it was number 13 was why the locker was empty in the first place, as people were avoiding it.

Anyway, I left the locker how it was and I was called into the exam room. I went through the instructions where it was going on about touch screen and I was looking at this old style computer (one of the big-ish ones... not flat screened) thinking 'surely it isn't a touch screen.' So I very discretely  ( just in case anyone was watching and thinking that I am stupid) touched 'next' while half way through reading the instructions and to my amazement... it was a touch screen. I was unable to go back and read the bit that I hadn't read yet but never mind, it was probably boring anyway.

I then started the multiple choice section of the theory test, of course using the tough screen. There were a few question that I was thinking 'WTF' how am I meant to know that. One of which was about what kind of glasses you shouldn't wear while driving in the dark. I guessed 'tinted' and another about some road markings I had never seen before. It looked like a roundabout but apparently, that wasn't an option... :(

I did my hazard perception test, which was fine apart from getting a little bit bored as there are 14 1 minute long clips... yawn. In between clips I was listening to the clicks going on around me and I could hear a person (who I think was the person just left of me) clicking away lots on her test.

I then thought I would be nice and answer all the extra stuff at the end which was about some possible questions that they might add and another one was about how I felt the test centre was. Then I went out to get my results. I passed!!! Yay! It would have been nice if they had given a proper certificate or something which is clear whether you passed or not and clear how many marks you got as I am easily confused. I only saw that I passed, which made me very pleased and so I collected my belongings out of the not-so-unlucky locker and paused there for a moment trying to find where it said my marks. I then had to hurry as a woman was waiting for my locker (I was thinking to my self 'you don't want this locker, it's number 13' even though it was lucky for me.

On my way to school I sent some texts to my Mum, Dad, Siblings etc to let them know I passed and then spoke to my brother on the phone who was asking what mark I got to which I replied 'what do you mean, what mark? It doesn't say on the sheet' and he was a bit confused as it had said on his sheet what he got when he took his. After I hung up I got out the sheet and read it while walking along and I found the marks that I got... oops :) I then sent a text to James saying something like 'Ooops I just read the sheet and it does have the marks on it, I got 49/50 and 63/75' and when he got home later he called me a doughnut.

Well, whether I am a doughnut or not I passed so I am very happy. Now just the practical test to go... :S

IT'S PANCAKE DAY

 HAPPY PANCAKE DAY!

What a great day, a day dedicated to the deliciousness that is the the pancake, yum!! I most certainly am appreciative of this day.

I just made lots of pancakes for my family and they did go down very well and we filled them with lots of lovely stuff like lemon and sugar (best flavour), golden syrup, jam and cream and jam and custard. Unfortunately I have no pictures of the pancakes, but I promise you they were... beautiful. I even flipped some - I'm quite proud of myself for that.

I made them the PROPER way! None of this 'shake the bottle' pancake mix rubbish that people use, I made them to proper way, just as easy as the bottle way thanks to Delia Smith.

I am a fan of the thin pancakes that are easy to roll up and everything because personally the thick pancakes make me feel a bit ill!

Lent starts tomorrow, so good luck to all those people giving up nice things for that. I personally don't give up anything, I never had. I only really started to know about it when I met my friend Imy because she always gives up something. This year it is Facebook and anything that isn't meat, fruit, vegetables and eggs. So good luck with that Imogen, even though there are very few people that have faith in you in doing it.

And Katie, well dieting starting tomorrow... somehow I think not. :P I know it, she knows it, everyone knows it - it won't last 40 days... maybe not even 4...

'Mum, can we get a dog?'

First of all I would like to apologise for neglecting my blog for a whole week. There are no excuses other than, no inspiration. So yes, that was my apology... I'm not going to be getting down on my knees and begging for forgiveness, sorry.

Onto the main blog...

The subject of getting a dog is a fairly common occurrence in my house because my Step dad, Graham, and my sister, Zoe, are especially keen on getting a dog. As much as my mum does want a dog, she thinks in a more logical, and perhaps sensible way (which would be a first for her), because she thinks about how the cat will react, leaving the dog on its own all day, money etc. I wouldn't mind a dog to be honest, as long as it didn't bark at me because dogs barking scares me... I'm a wimp, what can I say :S there's no denying it to be honest.

Graham has always wanted a Golden Labrador (or retriever, I can't remember) and they really are lovely looking dogs but my mum says that they moult a lot, which is why my mum has settled on a Golden Labradoodle, or Golden Doodle, if we ever get a dog.

To be honest, it's probably not the smartest idea to get a dog when we already have a cat because everyone knows they'll probably fight and what ever else. My cat will probably get jealous because she likes to think she is queen.

As much as I would like to have a dog and everything, I will not want to be doing any of the pooper scooping or anything because it will STINK, maybe worse than my cat!

Last week, Zoe had her Maths GCSE exam and had been going on about a dog so my mum said 'if you do well in this Maths exam, then we'll talk' to which Zoe replied with something like 'ugh, PRESSURE' hahah, it was quite funny. Well today Zoe got an A* in a Childcare exam that she did a few weeks ago and so she sent my mum a text telling her that she 'owed her a dog ;)' and my mum said something about leaving it up to Graham and working out how it will work. To my sister this sounded like 'ok, let's get a dog' so she was all excited which is really cute.

So, we shall see where this story goes, just watch this space...

P.S. When I was writing this I got up to get my duvet and Zoe got in my chair and started writing this - 'I love my sister <3 lots and lots and lots, tbh no words can describe the love ;-)'
Now I am guessing she wrote this as if she was me and Zoe, I don't love you... JOKING, I love you really!, even when you can be insanely annoying at times!! xx
